To build these immersive audio environment I am in the process of recording and developing soundscapes of Scandinavian nature and will implement these recordings customized for media and game sound design. My methods are to record, collect, and analyze different sounds from Scandinavian nature and the intersection between the cityscape and nature common to Scandinavian cities. This hands-on approach strengthens my skills and provide me with additional insights and help build a library of a multitude of different soundscapes. Nature is very much a part of the landscape in Sweden including the cities. Capturing these soundscapes and acquiring sounds that are mostly free from sound pollution is my goal. These recordings and sound sources will be used to create a vivid soundscape with a realistic sense of space and depth. Attention to subtle details and recreating a living sonic world will be the intended outcome. The creative work and the research can become guidelines for students when they record ambient sounds for their live film productions and in developing immersive sound design for animated films. The process of recording, logging media, editing and cleaning up this media will be documented and used as teaching material.
      Immersive audio and Ambisonics techniques are integral parts of modern cinematic filmmaking and post production audio where the most known format is Dolby Atmos mixing. The soundscapes and environments that I am recording will be used to create Virtual Reality environments, by capturing 360-degree audio, and generate detailed soundscapes that will be mixed in Dolby Atmos for films and game audio software (middleware), such as Wwise and FMOD. Both artificial (human made) and natural worlds will be created, and inspiration will be taken from the landscapes of Scandinavia and the proximity between urban and the natural landscape in that area.

In August 2024 I started a Sabbatical Leave to create immersive sound environments using ambisonics field recording technology specifically for immersive and game audio content. My goal is to capture pristine recordings of natural settings using ambisonics recording equipment and program these into Audiokinetic Wwise for a dynamic soundscape 

Part of my teaching philosophy and personal life is to continuously learn and develop and use these life lessons creative endeavors and teaching material. The area of immersive audio is a technical and creative field of study that I intend to develop further, both in my personal creative career and in the educational technology environment.
